Use of Artificial Intelligence Technology to Increase Operational Efficiency of Sharia Banks

Background – Islamic banks are faced with pressure to improve operational efficiency to meet increasingly competitive market needs. Along with technological advances, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has emerged as a potential solution to increase operational efficiency which is crucial for maintaining the competitiveness and exploration of Islamic banks in making more informational and strategic decisions.
Purpose –This research aims to explore the role and impact of using artificial intelligence (AI) technology in improving the operational efficiency of Islamic banks considering the rapid technological changes in adopting this technology.
Design/methodology/approach – This research uses a qualitative approach through surveys, interviews and data analysis with a focus on the implementation of artificial intelligence technology in various operational aspects of Islamic banks and their adoption process.
Findings – The results of this research show that the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in improving the operational efficiency of Islamic banks has helped improve operational efficiency, provide better services to customers, and can be the basis for developing policies and strategies in Islamic banks in adopting this technology.
Research limitations – The limitation of this research is only banks located in Bandar Lampung and lies in access to internal and sensitive data from sharia banks which are the subject of research which affects the depth of analysis and interpretation of the findings.
Originality/value – This research uses a new or innovative approach or methodology in exploring the use of artificial intelligence technology in the context of Islamic banking. This approach can provide deeper and different insights from previous research.
